Projects in the knowledge network
In RECIN, projects, milestones and tasks do not sit in a separate tool alongside everything else – they are entities in the same network as customers, contracts and documents. Whoever works on an item also sees what it rests on.
Three levels, one network
Project, milestone and task are entities in their own right. That lets a task be linked to the contract it came from, and a project to the customer it runs for. Role-based access applies just as everywhere else – anyone not allowed to see an item does not see it in the project plan either.
Schedules calculate from the bottom up
Nobody maintains project dates twice. The task that finishes last determines the end of the milestone – and the latest milestone the end of the project. If a task moves, everything above it moves along automatically.
Status travels both ways
Once all tasks of a milestone are done, the milestone closes itself – and with the last milestone, the project. Conversely, a milestone closed by hand takes its tasks with it. Cancelled tasks do not count: they block neither the completion nor the schedule.
Responsibility is a relationship, not a text field
Who is responsible, accountable, supportive, consulted or informed is recorded as a relationship between person and item. That is why the reverse question can be answered too: what is this person actually working on right now – across all projects?
What we paid attention to
Your own project types
Construction, product launch, audit: every company sets up its own project types, each with its own colour and icon. Milestone and task stay uniform – which keeps evaluations comparable across all projects.
Reassign without rework
If a task is moved to a different milestone, both sides recalculate – the old milestone shrinks, the new one grows. Nobody has to adjust anything by hand.
Deleted does not mean gone without trace
A deleted project takes its tasks out of view with it, but the connections remain and the work status is not quietly set to “done”. The audit trail stays complete.
