What does RECIN mean?

RECIN stands for Relative Emergent Collective Intelligence Network. The name is not an accident but a statement of intent: each of the five words describes a property a knowledge network needs if it is to carry real weight inside a company.

Relative – knowledge lives in relationships

Knowledge is rarely absolute. A piece of information only takes on meaning in relation to others: a document belongs to a contract, a person to a project, a decision to its reasoning. "Relative" means that RECIN does not store isolated data points but their relationships – because that is where the value sits. Without context, a file is just a file.

Emergent – connections produce something new

Emergence describes a phenomenon found everywhere in nature: simple parts interact and something larger appears that none of the parts holds on its own. A single jigsaw piece shows no picture; only many of them joined together do. Knowledge arises the same way in RECIN. The individual note is not what is valuable — the network formed by many connections is. Relationships become visible that nobody had ever written down explicitly.

Collective – what many people know

Collective intelligence means that a group together knows more than any single person. In most companies this collective knowledge goes unused because it sits in separate heads and separate systems. RECIN brings it together: every employee contributes to the same network, confirms connections and adds context. Scattered individual knowledge becomes a shared, growing body.

Intelligence – understanding, not just storing

An archive stores. An intelligent system understands relationships and can answer questions. RECIN uses AI to suggest entities and possible relationships from documents – but always so that people check and confirm them, and every answer stays backed by a source. Intelligence here does not mean guessing; it means traceable knowledge.

Network – the structure of the whole

At the end stands the network: the structure of nodes and edges in which everything comes together. People, organisations, products, projects, documents and dates are the nodes; their relationships are the edges. This network is the core of RECIN – and the reason knowledge stays available even when people leave the company.

Five words, one idea

Put together, the name describes a simple idea: knowledge lives in relationships (relative), out of which something new arises (emergent), carried by many (collective), understandable and evidenced (intelligence), joined into a whole (network). That is exactly what a knowledge network is – and exactly what RECIN is.
